Mascara Routine! (For Big Bold Lashes)

Good morning loves! I have a new video up for you :) This one is a step by step on the techniques I use when applying my mascara to make my lashes look big and bold. I also talk about how I take care of my lashes. Although I've experimented with false eyelashes, I am not a huge fan of how they feel on my eye, and prefer applying a few layers of mascara instead. I haven't done a "talk-through" tutorial in a long time! What do you guys think of this style of video? Or do you prefer voice-over? Let me know in the comments! (My lipstick is "Sao Paulo" lip creme by NYX) Hope you enjoy the video and find it helpful!

Techniques summarized:
1. Start with mascara wand right in the base
2. "Zig zag" left to right
3. Turn wand upright, vertically then press into lashes
4. Fan out lashes
5. Turn wand outward as you're moving up lash

 Some before & afters!

Products mentioned!
Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
Sephora Brow Comb

I've experimented with so many mascaras, this one is my fav! ♥

Here are two quick pictures from the next video I am going to post tomorrow! This one is a talk-through video on the techniques I use when applying my mascara to make them look as big and full as possible :) Been wanting to show you these techniques for a while now so I'm happy I finally got this one filmed. See you guys in the video soon ♥

Weekly Eye Candy

Hey guys! Hope everyone had a good long Memorial Day weekend, and to all my international readers, hope you had a fabulous weekend too! As you may know, my cousin Skeena and I, are very close (watch our Q&A here) and everyday we send each other images over Whatsapp of things we find inspirational, beautiful and funny. We get these images from Tumblr - which I am addicted to and will scroll through my homepage multiple times a day :) But for some reason, instead of re-blogging to my own account, I just save the images I like onto my phone and send them to Skeena. I like going through them and they just inspire me. So I thought I'd start sharing some of my favorite images of the week with you guys here on my blog, so you can see the type of stuff we send each other and be part of our little inspirational photo sesh! This is my kind of eye candy ♥

Rose Bud Manicure

Hi beautiful! Happy Friday :) I hope everyone's had a good week! Taking it easy tonight and staying in to edit a video I filmed this morning. This video is all about big bold lashes and showing you step by step how I apply my mascara for maximum fulness. I'm also going to try to film a video tomorrow about... stretch marks! I've gotten so many questions about this topic so I thought I'd do a whole video about it.

But for right now, I want to show you my new soft pink manicure. If you're familiar with my channel, you'll know I'm obsessed with clean well-manicured nails. I discovered Shellac a few months ago and I haven't turned back to regular polish since. The lasting power and the shine of this makes it a beauty miracle. A few weeks ago I wrote a full review (along with pro's & con's) of the Shellac manicure. Click here to read the post!

I am usually rocking a shiny deep red manicure, but felt like switching it up,
so I went for this light soft pink shade. I'm loving it for the spring!

New Candles

It's hard for me to not stop and smell the candles whenever I'm out shopping... I will smell them all! :) I love the way they make your room smell and how they linger around, long after you've blown them out. They also add an extra little comfy and romantic touch to a space. Yesterday I walked past Bath & Body Works and found "Tiki Beach" and "Honeysuckle" which both smell heavenly! Their scents are so good, yet they are still light and delicate.

Tiki Beach reminds me of a beautiful day in a warm exotic location. The official description is "A scent as warm as the sun! A luxurious blend of toasted coconut, vanilla musk and orchids brings the glamour of a resort-stay to you."

Honeysuckle smells so fresh yet warm and soothing. It reminds me of a calming warm bubble bath lol I guess all of our descriptions of scents depend on our own experiences :) The official description is "An alluring blend of sweet honeysuckle, pink peony and a touch of creamy vanilla capture the essence of walking through a garden in bloom."

If you guys are ever in Bath & Body Works, definitely check out these candles. For those of you wanting to know the price, I got two for $22 and they usually last me a month or so. Do you guys have a favorite candle brand, or scent? Let me know in the comments below! XOXO

Simple Glowing Skin Juice

Hi my loves! I hope everyone's had a great day! This morning I spent an hour or so catching up on my YouTube subscriptions (feels like I haven't properly watched YouTube in ages!), and I came across a video on this juice recipe for beautiful skin, hair and nails. I have Dan, aka "Life Regenerator", to thank for teaching me so much about juicing and most significantly, about the power of raw fruits & veggies. He's got a ton of great informational videos on his channel, so if you're curious or interested in juicing then definitely check them out! His style of videos are as simple as his diet, "raw"! As in, he does not do a lot of editing, but if you stick with them you can really learn a lot, he is a genius!

Made this juice today! Super simple, yet so amazing. Thanks Dan for the inspiration :)

What does it taste like?
This juice in particular tastes very faint and light, almost like water. After the first few sips you get used to it and it's really easy to drink. You could add apples to make it sweeter :)

Should I specifically buy "organic" produce?
If you are able to, try to buy as much organic as possible. They spray tons of pesticides, preservatives and chemicals on food these days - and who ends up eating them? We do. Organic, non sprayed, is the way to go!

How often do you juice?
I have juice everyday! I love it :) I have a juicer at home, but there's also a place around the corner from my apartment where they make fresh organic juice - so I usually get mine from there. If you don't want to juice everyday, then make a large batch, and add lots of lemons and you'll be able to keep it for up to 3 days (lemon acts as a natural preservative).

As we're on this juicing topic, below is the recipe I normally have daily:
- apples
- cucumber
- celery
- lemon
- ginger
- blended with kale & spinach (blending allows you to keep the whole leaf, thus getting more of it's nutrients)

I hope you guys found this post useful and interesting! Dan always fuels my excitement and appreciation of raw food and the benefits it has for your health and beauty. Maybe he'll inspire you too! XOXO

Quick Full Body Exercises!

Hi beautiful! Yesterday I filmed a video demonstrating a few of the exercises I do, usually in the night time just before I get into the shower. I spent most of the day editing it today and it's finally done! I hope that you guys enjoy this video. It was really fun to film and put together as it's very different from what I usually do :)

I do anywhere from 5 to 10 to 20 reps of each exercise almost every day to keep my body nice and toned. Even though these exercises are basic, they really work! At the end of the day it's all about moving your body. I usually do these when I'm watching TV (or sometimes even when I'm on the phone).

I really enjoy workouts like Pilates, barre method and yoga as these focus more on strengthening and lengthening the core and deep muscles, so you get a nice long and lean figure. I also love going on the occasional run!

And remember my loves, everyone comes in different shapes and sizes. Don't try to make yourself look like anyone else, I think we all (including myself) have tried doing that. But know that you are perfect, amazing and gorgeous just the way you are! It's about being the best, healthiest and most kick-ass version of yourself that you can! We only have one life, so let's live this life the best we can.

Prom Worthy

Want to share some quick behind-the-scenes pictures from a show I hosted a couple of days ago called Prom Worthy, which will be airing on Channel 9 - Nine West's YouTube channel in about a month or so. It was my first time working with a crew where I had "lines" to memorize " :) I'm so used to doing everything on my own, so for instance if I mess up it's fine - no pressure. But this time I had lots of people behind the camera so the feeling was definitely different. I was both excited and happy to be hosting but also a little anxious and nervous, just didn't want to mess up! :) But it all turned out great and it was a fun experience :)

The show was about giving deserving students from a high school in Queens, which was devastated by Hurricane Sandy, a prom makeover. So I got to interact with lots of students and help them pick out dresses (from Rent the Runway), shoes (from Nine West) as well as their hair & makeup (from Lancome). It was so good to see the looks on their faces :) I will share the episode with you guys when it airs.

With one of my lovely ladies! How pretty is her dress?
We still hadn't done hair & makeup at this point but she still looked stunning.
(My top is from Zara and shoes from Nine West)
I had a lovely makeup artist touching me up during the shoot :) So nice!

Minimalistic Fresh-Face Makeup

Hi everyone, happy Sunday! My new video is finally up :) I hope you enjoy this minimalistic makeup tutorial. I have lots of little blemishes on my face, but sometimes it's nice to not have to cover everything up. Even though in the pictures below do my skin a lot more justice, it's pretty uneven in real life. My point is, sometimes it's nice to let our real skin peek through and not clog it up with too many products. As mentioned in the video, I don't use liquid foundation on an every day basis and stick to my Studio Fix as it gives a pretty full coverage look without the "heavy" feeling.

The face mask I've been loving recently is this Sulfur Cooling Masque by Peter Thomas Roth. I bought it last summer, but recently rediscovered it in my beauty cabinet a few weeks ago. I feel like it really gets into my pores well and I've been using this about every 2 days for 10-15 minutes each time. It tingles for the first 5 minutes or so and it feels so nice. It helps to immediately "depuff" any blemishes. This will definitely be in my May Favs.

And below are a few pictures taken after filming. The mascara I use, Lash Doubling by Clinique, will forever stick with me! No other mascara can give lashes like it can. Love.

Products (in order of use):
- Peter Thomas Roth Sulfur Cooling Masque
- Peter Thomas Roth Ultra-Lite Oil Free Moisturizer
- L'Oreal True Match Foundation W6
- L'Oreal True Match Concealer W123

- Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Medium
- MAC Brow Pencil in Spiked

- L'Oreal Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner
- MAC Highlighter in Whisper of Guilt
- Lash Doubling Mascara by Clinique
- Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Blush "Rose"

Hope you found this helpful! XOXO

Next Video

Will have a new video up for you guys hopefully by tomorrow :) Below are two quick pictures from it where I show you how I do my everyday, super light makeup whilst still accentuating my features and correcting my skin tone. I have a work event today, which I'm really looking forward to then will finish up the editing tonight. Hope everyone is having a good day!

South Beach

Hi beautiful ♥ I hope everyone is doing well. It's been forever since I've shared some personal every-day pictures with you. I have to admit I haven't been the best blogger as of late. I will get back into it soon though! Thanks for still visiting my blog & for your sweet comments :) it means a lot! Last weekend, my boyfriend and I headed to Miami for a couple of days to soak up some sunshine. Even though it was a super short trip (planned literally moments before departure), it was so worth it. We stayed right on the beach and took in the gorgeous views. The ocean was the prettiest shade of turquoise and the water was nice and warm. I love swimming in salt water as it really helps to clear up your skin (try this face mask here). The weather was so perfect, not as hot or humid as I had expected.

Parasailing was scarier than what I thought, but so fun :) I think I screamed all the way up to the top
But once we were up, we took in the scenic views ♥ very pretty
(Bikini from H&M and sunglasses from Nasty Gal)
Part of the south beach boardwalk - we went running here in the morning
Gorgeous turquoise blue waters
One of the pools at the Fontainebleau.
The hotel was nice but super busy! Great for a group of friends, but next time we will most likely stay somewhere more quiet :)
Felt so nice going makeup free for a few days to let my skin breath :)
Sandals from Aldo, shorts from F21, purse Chanel
& my love's red lace loafers are by SSENSE :)
We went on a tour of the everglades on an airboat ride and saw live crocodiles and alligators
We literally zoomed over all these grassy areas as the boat pretty much hoovers over the water
The first alligator we saw :)
After the boat ride we watched this mini alligator show where our tour guide explained more about these animals
This was a live crocodile we passed whilst walking through the park
