Favorite Skin Care Products

I'm not even going to lie, I have a lot of skin care products lol but I love them all and each serves a different purpose - imagine how hard it is to travel :) I need a checklist and separate bag :) But with that said, as mentioned in the video, skin care is just a small percentage of having good skin. Most of it (to me personally) comes down to what I eat. If I have a bad food week, I'll be paying for it a few days later! Foods that absolutely brake me out are dairy products, chocolate and any salty foods (more on that here).

These products are mostly geared towards people with combination/oily acne-prone skin. You can definitely minimize breakouts and oiliness by eating correctly and using the right skincare for your skin type. I hope you find this video helpful!

Products mentioned!
Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes
Earth Science Chamomile & Green Tea Eye Makeup Remover
Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser / Mask
St Ives Green Tea Scrub
Michael Todd Jojoba Charcoal Scrub
Alba Botanica Acne Dote Deep Clean Astringent
Michael Todd Blue Green Algae Antibacterial Toner
Boscia Clear Complexion Moisturizer
Josie Maran 100% Pure Aragan Oil
 Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
Mario Badescu Facial Spray (Aloe, Herbs & Rosewater)
Michael Todd Kaolin Clay Detoxifying Facial Mask
Pure Raw Unfiltered HONEY! (Probably my favorite out of all!)

As mentioned briefly in the video, I love getting professional microderms. It's really helped improve the oiliness of my skin, thus the breakouts. It also makes my skin feel baby smooth and soft. It is pretty intense, so if you have super problematic sensitive skin, I would wait till it heals up first. But for anyone with acne scars, hyper-pigmentation or oily skin I definitely recommend trying it! (I do it about once a month, and the cost is around $50-$70.)

I exfoliate my skin every 2-3 days with the products mentioned in the video. Using a toner with salicylic acid (like the acne dote by Alba), will act as an exfoliant as well as the salicylic acid reaches down into the pores and cleans them out. I tone my face daily.

Going wheat & dairy free (read this)
Cutting out dairy was no problem for me, but the wheat is harder. I've cut down about 90% of the amount of wheat I used to eat before and it's made a big difference in not only my skin, but my body! My body feels a lot more "slender", as in I don't feel bloated anymore. Wheat can really swell up your body, and I've totally been enjoying this wheat free body of mine now. I will still have the occasional wheat, but I make sure it's whole grain, brown etc. My skin get's less oily I find when I don't eat wheat. Click here to read the full post.

Other tips for great skin
- Drink plenty of water
- Eat clean & healthy (lots of fresh fruit & veggies)
- Keep your skin cleansed, exfoliated and hydrated

- Avoid touching your face with dirty hands
- Make sure makeup brushes are clean and sanitized
- Avoid keeping makeup (& face towels) in your bathroom near the toilet
- Change your pillow case every 2-3 days

- Exercise to get your blood moving
- Stress less
- Be calm & happy (our mood affects our skin tremendously)

I hope you found this information helpful my lovelies! Feel free to leave your favorite skin care products or tips below in the comments. It's always nice hearing from you :) Hope you're all having a fab weekend! XOXO

New Earrings

Hi beautiful! Hope you're doing good. Had a few errands to run this morning and then mostly stayed in editing the rest of the day. This next video will be on my favorite skin care products. I am obsessed with my current skin care products, so I can't wait to share them with you all. In the video I'm wearing these earrings I found a few days ago in Aldo for $15! They have a beautiful vintage feel to them and I find them so glam. I love the accessories at Aldo. Just as with Forever 21, you can find a few bits in there that look much more expensive than what they actually are. That's half the fun in shopping! You definitely don't need a lot of money to dress well these days if you know where to shop! For those of you wondering, my necklace is from Forever 21, my blouse from H&M and my lip gloss is Crystal Lilac by Revlon :)

Good morning beautiful It's a gorgeous sunny day here in New York! Just about to start getting ready to film and going through some of the comments from the video I posted yesterday which I did with Skeena. You guys are amazing :) I'm happy you liked it and that you got to see a different side of me than you're probably used to :) We had a lot of fun filming it.

On another note, I've been really into Instagram lately and have been posting pictures more often these days. Below are a few from the past two weeks! I'm a sucker for all those filters lol they make the pictures look so cool. I especially like taking pictures of the things I eat as a lot of you ask me about healthy food ideas :) Are you guys on Instagram? If so leave me your username below in the comments! I hope everyone has a fabulous start to the day! XOXO

Indestructible Nails

Hi beautiful! Hope you're day is going good. As mentioned in my February Favorites, I've been loving UV nail polishes for the past few months. I love having my nails done at all times, and coming across this polish, which is pretty much indestructible, has been amazing! I feel like this deserves a little blog post for itself simply because it lasts for about two weeks, and looks fab.

The range of colors available for shellac at my nail place is pretty limited so I haven't tried out too many. My favorite one however, is definitely "Decadence" which is the one I'm wearing in the pictures shown above. It's this gorgeous deep red wine color. I've had this color a few times and I adore it. Another nice red is called "Wildfire" which is more of a lighter, orangey toned red. I also like "Gotcha" which is a really pretty nudey pink color (not as bright as it appears in picture below).
  • Long lasting (10-14 days no chipping)
  • Super shiny and glossy color
  • Allows your nails to grow out
  • Doesn't damage your nail as there's no buffing of the nail involved
  • Resembles regular polish (doesn't look "thick" on your nail like traditional gel polishes)

  • More pricey than a regular manicure
  • It holds differently on everyone's nails (for me it lasts a long time, but on my cousin for instance, it peels off within a few days so it depends on your nail type)
  • It takes about 5-10 minutes to soak off
  • Color range isn't the best (but they have the classics!)

In my opinion, the pro's outweigh the con's, but this is because the shellac holds really well on my nail type. As mentioned, my cousin (and two other friends of mine) cannot wear this for more than a few days as it peels off, so either it will be a major hit or a miss. I recommend trying it and see how it holds! :) I don't think I'll go back to wearing regular nail polish any time soon because it's a hassle when it chips after just 1-2 days. My uber stylish mom (who does dishes every night) loves it too :) I hope they come out with some new colors soon!

Have you guys tried it? How does it hold on your nails? Let me know in the comments below! XOXO

P.S. For those of you wondering, this is not a sponsored post! Get my shellac done at a nail salon by my apartment :)

A Day in Brooklyn

Good morning everyone! I was so tired last night. Fell asleep earlier than expected, sorry for not posting! Below are a few pictures we took in Brooklyn when Skeena was here. I adore the colors of this street art mural, it's even more vibrant and amazing in person (plus it's massive!). If you don't know much about New York, Brooklyn is about a 10 minute subway ride from Manhattan and it's where a lot of people, who work in the city, live. The rent is a lot cheaper and the environment is a lot more chilled out (no high rises, traffic, ambulances etc).

My favorite part of Brooklyn is Williamsburg (Bedford ave subway stop). It's mainly one street lined with small quirky shops as well as lots of little random street stalls, cute restaurants with an array of street art. What I love most about this place though, are the people's sense of style. It's a mix of London 'street' meets fresh prince of bel air. Very funky cool people, love it. We spent about three hours walking around and had lunch at Juliette, which has a nice terrace upstairs for the summer time. For those of you wondering, my jeans are from TopShop, my sunnies from Nasty Gal and my scarf & jacket from Zara.

A few pictures taken with Skeena's iPhone

Such a lovely day!

So Flattered

Ahhh :) I was so happy when I saw this! I couldn't believe it at first. I'm so flattered and humbled. Thank you Rachel Aharonov! You are so talented

Just got back to New York. Have a ton of things to get done today but wanted to say hello before I get going. Posted this picture to Instagram this morning after getting ready. I've had this gold cuff for a few months and I am still obsessed with it. It was really inexpensive (from H&M) but it adds so much glam to a simple ponytail. I believe they still have it in stores. Anyway I hope everyone is having a good day :) Will be back later tonight with more pictures from the trip! Love you all

Outfit Of The Day

What I'm Wearing
Floral Printed Top & Necklace, Forever 21
High Waisted Shorts, H&M
Gold Cuff, Boutique in NYC
Nail Polish, Shellac "Decadence"
Curls done with straighteners (watch tutorial here)

The Right People

Just finished packing and organizing my things for todays trip back home. Will be leaving Orlando's lovely weather and arriving to a super cold New York so will be wearing some skinny jeans, two shirts, my leather jacket and big scarf.

Will be uploading some outfit of the day pictures I took yesterday next! You may notice the ends of my hair looks a little lighter than before, and that's because I sprayed "Sun In" on it for the past few days (which is a lightening spray activated by heat). Will write more about this product when I get back home. Below is a good quote I came across and wanted to share it with you :) Have a good day everyone XOXO

Outfit of the day pictures coming up next!

“Do not chase people. Be you, do your own thing and work hard.
The right people who belong in your life will come to you, and stay.”

Day 2: Epcot!

Yesterday was day two at Disney. We went back to Epcot with the family and went on a few rides with my little sister. We only stayed for a few hours this time because the lines were crazy long, but it was still a fun time. I would've loved to visit Universal Studios and gone on some of the big rides, but will save that for another time. I read a few of you wanted to have a meetup which would've been so fun! I did one in LA last summer and it was pretty surreal to meet you guys - hi to everyone I met that day! With meetups I think it's best to organize it a week or two in advance so we can coordinate in advance so no one is left out. Anyway I will keep you posted when I have my next one! :)

Last Day

Hi my loves! Been having so much fun here. I love the weather and being with my crazy fun family. Taken lots of pics which I am currently looking through and will be uploading soon. Tomorrow we are leaving back to NYC and Skeena is going home to London. Sad times but we got a good two weeks together :) Heard it's snowing back home! Not really looking forward to that, but excited to film and get some new videos up for you! Still have our Q&A video to upload. Anyway I hope everyone is doing well! Been instagraming more lately, my username is AnnieJaffrey if you want to follow me on there. Check back soon for more pics! XOXO

Forget the subway, I want to bring this home

Today we started the day nice and early, and headed to Magic Kingdom. I've been to Disney World before and even though I'm not a fan of big crowds and fast food, I love a good roller coaster! I also think the park itself is really pretty. My little sister loved it (especially A Small World - I vividly remember going on that when I was a child - it's an experience in itself at that age lol). It was a nice little family outing. We went on a couple of rides in Magic Kingdom then headed to Epcot for the Soarin' ride which I thought was fun and unique.

It was freezing today! The weather here changes super quick, but at least it was nice and sunny. As soon as we got to the park, Skeena and I went to the gift shop and got a sweater to keep warm - hence the matching :) We stayed out till about 9pm and came home to the hotel, freshened up and had a relaxing dinner in the lobby where they had a live band playing everything from Adele to Bob Marley - very sweet. Tomorrow will be another day at the park! Hope everyone is having a good day! XOXO

Hi everyone :) I'm a few good shades darker since we last spoke and my cousin is unfortunately a few shades of pink and purple (but we're praying it hopefully turns into brown soon). The sun was so strong yesterday, it completely shocked us all! We went down to the pool just before noon and by 3pm I decided to put my shirt back on and had my head covered with a towel whilst doing some work on my laptop. I knew if I stayed exposed any longer my skin would be toasted. I got a little burned on my nose but that's about it. Nonetheless, we had a nice little time by the pool :) Felt so good to get some sun after months of being covered up in the cold NYC weather.

This picture below has made both of us laugh so much. By the end of the day, we covered Skeena up - literally from head to toe! In the beginning of the day she asked me "I wonder if it's even warm enough to tan?" since it was pretty cold the day before. Lol poor girl but you gotta love her! So important to wear sun screen ladies and prevent unnecessary aging caused by the sun. We slathered it on all over today before going to the parks. Had such a good day! Will post some pictures soon. (My bikini is from H&M last spring.)
