Nude Eye & Heavy Liner

Thought I'd show you some quick pictures of the makeup I was wearing in my giveaway video. It's a very simple yet still bold eye, quite 70's inspired. I did my hair the same way as in my completed night out look (link for the video below). This look is great for both day and night. If you do this type of eye in the morning, and you have a party or dinner to attend at night, just add a little more depth to your crease, and smoke out your lower lash line slightly more, touch your skin up with some blotting powder et voila!

Follow these steps to achieve this eye look:
- Apply eyeshadow primer to the entire eyelid
- Apply a soft creamy pink eyeshadow to entire lid. I used "Freestyle" from the Urban Decay Smoked Palette (shown below).
- Apply a light cream shadow underneath the brow. I used "Kinky" (but I prefer "Foxy" from Naked 2).
- Apply liquid liner and flick out the corners. I did mine slightly heavier than usual, love the way it came out.
- Starting from the tip of the liquid liner flick, apply a mauve shadow in a window wiper motion in your crease, towards the center of the eye. This creates that nice depth. I used "Tease" from Naked 2.
- Add a slightly darker shade with a small pencil brush just to the outer V for a bit more dimension. I used tiny amount of "Backdoor".
- Blend

On the lower lash line, I applied a purple shadow, "Rockstar" and then deepened the outer third with a black eyeshadow, "Blackout". I also applied a hint of gold "Half Baked" Naked 2, to the inner third of the lower lash line to give a bit of sparkle to the eyes. I love adding a pop of color to the lower lash line, it really brings out your eye color!

I tend to stick to the same basic principles when doing my eye makeup, as you can probably tell by watching my tutorials. I find that these techniques work best for accentuating my eyes and making them look the best they can. Liquid liner is key with a bit of smokiness on the lower lash line - so flattering on everyone!

The lip gloss I was wearing in the video is called "Bellini" by Revlon - however when I took these pictures, the lip gloss had faded and my natural lip color started peeking through.

  7. Hi Annie, you are so inspiring and its a lot of fun staying up to date on fashion and make up trends with you. I also love that when I talk about what you are up to I say, "Annie did this on her YouTube channel" or "Annie did that on her blog" and my husband knows exactly who I am talking about~LOL! You are a household name. My favourite fashion tip from you is how you like to wear earrings that have a sparkle to them. It does help light up your face :)
